I have decided to change my focus for the next few months by addressing issues and reading strategies more relevant for teachers of secondary students. A recent article entitled Before It's Too Late: Giving Reading A Last Chance provides a wonderful starting point for an investigation into supportive online resources for secondary school teachers trying to beef up students' reading abilities. The article's author, Rick Allen, describes some of the most successful reading comprehension strategies for secondary students as those that are woven into larger learning frameworks that attempt to meet students' needs on an academic and personal level.
